Member of Parliament for Honiton & Sidmouth, Richard Foord, has written to NHS Devon CEO demanding clarity over the future of audiology services.

This follows the withdrawal of services provided by Chime in March.

Since Chime stopped providing the service, people across the constituency have written to Richard Foord concerned about access to audiology services. These services include hearing tests, hearing aid repairs and battery replacement, and related support.

In his letter to Mr Moore, Mr Foord writes that

“My constituents are frustrated by a lack of information related to the new service and confusion about how it is provided.”

Mr Foord is seeking reassurance that issues faced by residents in receipt of these services will be resolved urgently, and that patients “are being proactively provided with information about the changes and how they can access the new service for a range of needs.”

The letter also calls for clarity over the length and size of waiting lists, to ensure that the numbers do not grow more than they already have.
