Travelling to Devon

Answers to your questions about how to get to Devon in polling week

Coming to Devon and volunteering is the best way to help Richard and the Lib Dems win.

How are the train strikes going to affect my journey?

Travelling to the constituency by train is going to be significantly affected by the strikes.

Trains to Honiton - There are no trains running on Tuesday 21 June and Thursday 23 June to Honiton. There will only be a Sunday service on Wednesday 22 June. Full details from South Western Railway can be found here: Southern Western Railway Strikes

Trains to Tiverton - GWR are running a significantly reduced temporary timetable between 21 and 25 June. Due to the timing of the strike action, services in between strike days will also be affected. Full details from GWR can be found here: www.gwr.com/strike

It is strongly recommended to travel down by car because of the drastically reduced service.

Lift sharing

We suggest you get in touch with neighbouring local parties to coordinate sharing journeys by car. Or you can use this form to request a lift: www.richardfoord.org.uk/lift The team will try their best to match you up with someone suitable.

Is there any traffic disruption that I need to be aware of?

Glastonbury Festival is likely to cause some disruption on the A303 from Tuesday 21st June.

If you are travelling to the Tiverton HQ, stay on the M5 on come off at junction 27 and head down the A361.

If you are heading to the Honiton HQ then stay on the M5 until junction 28 and then follow the A373. Be especially aware to avoid the A39, A37 as these are roads particularly affected by the Glastonbury Festival.

Where is the best place to get fuel around Tiverton and Honiton?

There are a number of Tescos superstores in the main towns throughout the constituency that we have found to be the cheapest places to get fuel.

When is the best time to travel down to Tiverton and Honiton?

Travel down to help on 21st June and stay until Friday if you can. You will miss the disruption and will be helping in a big way.

Is there any free accommodation for volunteers?

Regretfully not. We are at full capacity for the rest of the campaign.
